Celebrating National Pretzel Day
I'm always ready to celebrate anything that has to do with chocolate. By the name alone, Dark Chocolate is the best brown in my book!

Color That's Off the Charts!
… and off the page! I really like these colors and they have to be shown BIG!!! I have some great ideas! Paint color that RIGHT for your home. Just having fun with color here :-)
Is it too early to think about Color Trends for 2013? I don't think so!
So how are you liking Tangerine Tango for the home? Are you able to use it in your home other than in small does? It's a great color but a very “in your face” color. Perhaps for 2013, we want something a bit more subdued and a color that will match our decor a bit more? Try salmon - in all shades, tints and tones!

Color Trend for 2013: Salmon
If you've been reading my other blog, A Color Specialist in Charlotte, you may have noticed that I've been blogging about the color salmon since 2009. Since then, various Pantone colors became the trend of the year which is fine. The trouble is, MOST these colors do not convey well into our homes.
Colors like Mimosa,Turquoise, Honeysuckle and now Tangerine Tango are very fashion oriented for the most part and will only be seen as accessories or light accents in our homes. So what color or colors can be 'color of the year' and can actually go in our homes? Salmon.
Tangerine Tango came close but as I see the posts and tweets, homeowners still just want it in small doses. Salmon, and it's various tints can be used in our home.
Irene Turner tweeted this morning about her own color for 2012 and she chose Teal. Beautiful color but again - probably just in small doses. She asked me what my color choice would be which prompted me to write this post.
Look at the Salmon colors I've shown in the above board. This is a range of great color that can be used in our homes from a light choice for a neutral look to the darker accent color for impact. Now you'll either love it or hate but ------- it's different! It's not a typical blue, yellow, red or green choice. It's an odd color that grabs your attention and quite frankly - that's a good thing in my eyes!!
Love these colors? They are all Benjamin Moore

Dusty Miller
Dusty Mille by Benjamin Moore is growing with the gray trend. This is a very universal color that goes with so much! You can dress it up with black and burgundy to be contemporary or slow it down with warm browns and soft yellow.

The Freshness of Mint
Love, love, love Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream! This was actually my snack one day and decided to snap a picture of it because it was so beautiful! Anyway, greens are popular but not these particular hues. Be careful working with these - lighting is crucial with these undertones.

Some of the Best Benjamin Moore Browns
What can I say about these browns other than YUM!!! Don't you wish paint was available in scratch and sniff? Anyway, browns are just a good neutral to have. You can buddy up so many other colors with brown, just keep your undertones together.

Color For Your Nursery
So innocent. So light. So delicate. If you don't know the sex of your baby yet, consider anything in the green family. Once you find out what you're having, you can always 'girl' or 'boy' is up. I really like the Pale Celery.

Fishing Around for Color
How fun is this? This color palette is perfect to the kids bathroom. Blue with red towels would be great for both the boys and girls. Just use a really high quality paint such as Benjamin Moore Bath and Spa for those high humidity rooms such as bathrooms and spas.
